Advair Osteopenia Osteoporosis

Advair Osteopenia Osteoporosis risks.  Advair is a drug used to prevent asthma attacks.  It is also prescribed to prevent or worsening of COPD.

The drug contains fluticasone, which is a steroid. It also contains salmeterol which is a bronchodilator. The drug works by relaxing muscles in the airways to improve breathing.

Side effects of Advair

Like most steroid drugs, this drug can cause Osteopenia and Osteoporosis. Some people taking this drug show low bone density in as little as 6 months but most develop Osteoporosis between year 2 and year 10.  After 10 years 99% of those taking this drug have Osteopenia or Osteoporosis.
